Child and Family Sensitive Issues
A counselling service is available in school for pupils with emotional needs.
Carole Powell is a qualified and experienced counsellor, having worked with primary school age children for many years both as a counsellor and teacher. She is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the Counselling for Children and Young People (CCYP) professional bodies.
For further information on this free service, please see below.
The Sex and Relationship Education Policy is shared below and full details are available on request. The school informs parents when aspects of the sex and relationship programme are taught and they will be given an outline of the lessons in advance so they are able to make an informed decision.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from those aspects of sex and relationship education, not included in the Science National Curriculum. However, this rarely happens; by working in partnership with parents they recognise the importance of this aspect of their child's education.
Our school nurse comes into school on a regular basis. She is available to meet individually with parents if requested. Please contact the office to arrange this.
